Since 1985 the International Institute of Health has been dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to our patients. Last year in October IIH-SM SOLUTIONS and CASA FLORA partnered to offer the best experience for healing, restoration, and rebirth achieving the balance needed. We have two sites in SAN MARTIN DE LOS ANDES- Patagonia, one in the mountains and one on the Lacar lake.

Is in Quila Quina where we have our vegetable garden, the place where our chef selects the items for daily organic food intake. The horses are free roaming the area and the house is 100 mts to the lake. Is in this location where clients start to experience the wilderness and enjoy hikes, horseback riding, or just a simple space for quiet meditation.
CASA FLORA program offers 7 weeks of science-based and wilderness program based on individual needs with a wide range of services, both from Eastern and Western modalities of care. These are designed to meet the diverse health needs of each of our patients in an individualized approach, from Integrated Medical Care to Educational Sessions. Individual, Family, and Group therapy, Qi Gong. Massage therapists, Acupuncturists, and Chiropractors are offering their services as needed. Nutritional Coaching, Life and Recovery Coaching, Yoga, Breathing exercises, and spiritual groups are offered too.

San Martín de los Andes is a town in northwest Patagonia, Argentina. It’s known as a gateway to the forested Lanín National Park, home to the Lanín Volcano and diverse wildlife including guanacos and pumas. The town lies on the banks of Lake Lácar, one of the park’s many glacial lakes, and has a boat pier and a sandy beach.
The city of San Martín de los Andes is located in the south of the Province of Neuquén, about 267 miles (430 kilometers) from the capital of the province, and 978 Miles (1575 km) from the city of Buenos Aires.
Situated in an ample valley on the coast of Lake Lácar at 2100 ft (640 Meters) above sea level.
San Martin de Los Andes has four well-delineated seasons.

Susana E. Méndez, M.D.,- Psychiatrist

Dr. Susana Méndez completed her M.D., residence, and fellowship in Psychiatry in Buenos Aires - Argentina in 1982. -1985. Her clinical trainer was under the direction of Professor Jose Burucua, MD. Completed training in NYC at NYU, Parsons School, and the Ackerman Institute, she was supervised by Lionel Urcuyo, MD of the Karen Horney Institute of NYC. Obtained her Master’s in Oriental Medicine and License in Texas in 2005, and in 2008 obtained her MD license in Spain and became an Assistant Professor at UTSWMS Department of Psychiatry working on research and participating in the Texas NODE of NIDA. Her Post Doctorate Training in Neurology and Psychiatry was completed in 2011, and her Doctor of Oriental Medicine (OMD) in 2012, she became licensed as an acupuncture physician in the state of Florida the same year, followed by an international MBA in 2015. She is a bilingual professional with extensive experience in clinical, research, and mental health administration with an impressive highly skilled background in the field of dual disorders (Addictions and Psychiatry); mental illness, and co-occurring medical issues; in addition to family systems. Dr. Méndez is an International speaker, who has been training M.D's in Europe ( France, Spain, Italy, and Turkey ) as well as in South American countries: Peru, Mexico, Brazil and Uruguay in the utilization of Acupuncture for Dual disorders. In her USA practice, she utilizes Western and Eastern therapeutic modalities of care including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART); Chromotherapy; Hypnosis, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy; Body, Ear, and Scalp Acupuncture; as well as Herbology. She was trained in Freudian and Lacanian Psychoanalysis, M.E.R.T as well as in Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber for the treatment of TBI among other disorders.
Presently she focuses on Integrative Care.

Dr. Marco T. Ricaurte was born in Mar del Plata, the southeast coast of Buenos Aires, completed his clinical training with Professor Jose Burucua, M.D., Obtained his M.D. from the University of Buenos Aires - Medical School in 1982 followed by residence in Psychiatry in Buenos Aires, graduating from the Argentine School of Psychotherapy for Graduates in 1987, and from the Argentinian Psychoanalytic Association in 1992. As a bilingual professional, he established and maintained a successful private practice specializing in integrative psychiatric care working with clients from different areas of the world. He Implements innovative therapeutic approaches combining Western and Eastern care guiding individual sessions and family groups, fostering emotional openness, and enhancing recovery. While supervising, he led dream interpretation training retreats to promote self-awareness and psychological growth. With a focus on holistic care taught individuals deep breathing techniques among others tools for stress reduction and emotional regulation. Dr. Ricaurte became the Medical Director for IIH-SM Solutions in 2022. He will oversee the training and development of staff as well as direct care with patients,
Viviana A.M Rocchi, M.D., Neurologist.

Viviana A M. Rocchi, M.D., is a Trilingual ( English, Italian, Spanish) professional. She was born in Allen, Rio Negro, and educated in Buenos Aires - Argentina, at the University of Buenos Aires, Medical School, graduating in 1982. Her clinical trainer was under the direction of Dr. Jose Burucua, she completed her residency at the Hospital “J. A. Fernandez” specializing in Neurology, with a sub-specialization in headaches. Dr. Rocchi received supervision under Professor - Doctor Ernesto Herskovits, Chief of the Neurology Department in the same hospital from 1982 to 1988. In 1985 she became a co-investigator in different research studies in Buenos Aires. In 2007 became licensed as an MD in Spain and in 2009 she was trained in Auricular Acupuncture for the treatment of dual disorders. She became a co - investigator in the Fondazione” Istituto Neurologico Nazionale Casimiro Mondino” IRCCS- Dipartimento Di Scienze Neurilogiche- Università degli Studi di Pavia- Italy” in 2010. With more than 35 years of teaching, assistance, and research experience, and many papers published in Neurology, she became a consultant for IIH-SM Solutions in 2022. Her extensive career placed her in a unique position, no longer being a consultant for our organization, she is now part of our established team. Dr. Rocchi will be in charge of differential diagnosis of our patients guiding the clinical team to the necessary treatments.
Everest Goldstein, R.N.
Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner
Everest is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner also certified in functional medicine, she obtained her B.A. in Psychology and her Master of Education.
Earned her Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degree, and completed her functional medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Everest offers a refreshing alternative to the one-size-fits-all model that is too common in psychiatry, she is constantly at the forefront of new advancements in the field and goes out of her way to put our patients first.
She has experience working in a variety of psychiatric settings, including inpatient psychiatry, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, outpatient psychiatry, private practice, integrative psychiatry, and consult liaison psychiatry.
Everest takes a holistic approach to healing and believes in the connection between the body and mind, working to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
She combines both alternative and conventional medicine to optimize patient results offering a refreshing alternative to the one-size-fits-all model that is too common in psychiatry. She is fluent in English and Spanish

Renee Segler, MS, LPC, LCDC
Therapist, EMDR Specialist
Renee is an experienced therapist working with diverse clients utilizing modalities of care such as CBT, EMDR, A.R.T., Motivational interviewing, and ART Therapy.
She works with males and females, providing educational sessions and individual, group, and family Therapy.
Renee's main interest is to work with complex trauma clients and empower them to re-establish a balanced life. She has been working with dual disorders clients for the last 12 years.
Rachel Malloy
Outlook Coaching,
Integrative Nutrition, Recovery, and Life Coach
Rachel works with male and female clients supporting the work they are doing in therapy, guiding them to adapt to new changes in life, and as Renee but from a different perspective, she empowers clients to adhere to protocols set by MDs and RNs.
She may travel with the client as needed to Patagonia and work with them while in Casa Flora, or welcome the client back to the US, supporting the work in IOP -SOP
Our coaches are extremely important in the process. of change. She is Certified as a Recovery- Life coach and as an Integrative Nutrition Coach by
the Institue of Integrative Nutrition in NYC.
Business Development Team
Our business development team has established strong partnerships with healthcare providers in the USA and Patagonia as well as with community organizations, increasing mutual collaboration and outreach efforts. These partnerships are enhancing access to care for potential clients in need of emotional, physical, and recovery services in general. The trajectory of his career is well known, working for a recovery company for the last 6 years, Fritz now is expanding his career with a focus on international business expansion, also offering support as a Life and Recovery coach to adult males and adolescents

Our Chef and Equine Therapist
Daniela has two passions:
She prepares healthy organic food with vegetables from our garden based on suggestions by MDs and RNs, she follows the Blue Zone recommendations in preparing food according to the season and based on client needs.
Three meals a day and snacks
Organic Fruits from our land are served at breakfast and during the day as snacks. Each client may request special diets based on medical needs.
Fish is fresh from Lacar Lake ( season permitting) and
the poultry products are from Casa Flora.
At International Institute of Health- SM solutions, we believe that health is not just the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. We strive to promote holistic health and wellness through our services and patient education programs.
Our assessment is performed in the USA via office visits or tele-therapy. Once the client is cleared medically, by our RN's MDs in the USA, he or she can prepare to travel to South America, along with a family member or a coach.
If the client has medical needs before travel, arrangements to detox or other care are made
Upon arrival in Buenos Aires MD will assess the overall performance of the client and will determine readiness for the wilderness portion of the program. The Science-Base portion of the curriculum offers individual sessions 3 times a week, daily educational sessions, as well as daily group therapy. EMDR, Chronotherapy, and Auricular Acupuncture are provided for clients who present complex trauma or demonstrate high-stress
Thursday to Monday, we continue with the curriculum at the lake house,
where many outdoor activities are performed including, a visit to La Isllita, horticulture session, Equine therapy, and yoga, plus the opportunity to ski, hike, horseback ride, and even swim at lake Lacar if weather permits.

We offer outpatient services in Dallas, Texas, USA, or continuing care in Patagonia for 45 days of outpatient
The outpatient program is designed to meet the individual needs. The family is invited to continue with care attending sessions in outpatient in Patagonia or in the USA
